Orange County

I haven't forgotten about my blog, it's just that I moved back to Santa Ana about a month ago and I have no source of the interwebz. When or even if I'll get it, I do not know, but I will do my best to blog whenever I get the opportunity.

Anyway, I just completed my third week in school. As some of you know, I go to Paul Mitchell the School of Costa Mesa, and holy toledo...I LOVE IT. If it were possible, I would make love to it. This is what I tell everyone that asks me how I like it. There's also a girl in my class that attends FIDM in LA! I envy her so much. Fashion would be my next career choice. Back to this girl, we were each assigned a person as sort of a "secret santa" type thing and at the end of this series of the class we're taking, we have to give the person a meaningful, heartfelt gift and we can't spend more than $20 on it. I'm thinking this would be easy since we both have an interest in fashion. I have no idea what I'm doing for her yet, as I am still getting to know her, but I know I will enjoy getting to know her and creating the gift.

I gotta go now. The bestie is going crazy without her laptop.

Until next time!

Birthday Money, Begone!

Today, Manny and I went to Riverside to run some errands. Our original plans were to go to Electric Chair to buy our tickets to the Kosmic Festival on Saturday, go to JoAnn so I could buy fabric to make pants for Kosmic Fest, go to the college so Manny could buy his books for the fall semester, and take a trip to the mall because he had to return a peacoat to H&M.
Well...I shook up our plans a little. We did go to the college, but then Manny said he probably couldn't afford going to the rave, and if he wasn't gonna go, I surely wasn't. So that automatically crossed out Electric Chair and JoAnn from our list.
Next, we went to the mall. We walked into H&M and got a good look at their clothes for quite some time. I began to gain some inspiration. I wanted to buy everything! But I refrained.
The display windows at Forever 21 looked promising, so in we went. One of the mannequins had on the greatest black tiered tulle skirt and it was at a good length and I just had to have it! I went through their racks, but it was nowhere in sight. I do horrible with speaking to people, so Manny being the great friend that he is, asked one of the sales associates for me. She could not seem to find it either. I gave up *sigh*.
I took a gander at their clothes and found an amazing paint splattered sweatshirt(pictured below) that screamed my name, so of course I bought it. I also bought a white pearl hair band(pictured below) and a silver chained belt that has a tassle-esque thing on one end. I love it, but infortunately I couldn't find a picture of it.
We walked out afterward and we passed by Aldo. I took a double take because they had some great shoes. I made Manny come back and walk in with me. I have been looking for some simple, flat black shoes with a hint of an Oxford shoe and low and behold...I found it! The store didn't have them in my size, but the nice lady said she'd order a pair for me in my size and they'd be shipped to my house for free! I paid for the shoes and felt a sense of happiness. They're supposed to come in 3-6 days. I'm so happy. I love having something to look forward to, especially something like shoes.

Manny and I were starving, so we decided to get something to eat. I remembered I needed a new pair of black pants, so we went to the only place I ever go to for black pants, Hot Topic. Ususally you wouldn't catch me dead there, but I really like their pants. I found these cool ones that are torn at the knees. I thought they added edge and purchased them.
Below are pictures of what I bought. They're not in order, but you get the picture - no pun intended. I also bought some floral printed cycling shorts, a vintage belt, and a teal-blue skirt with black polka-dots from Goodwill, which lack pictures.
I love shopping!

Shop My Closet!

As some of you know, I'll be starting school next month at the oh-so amazing Paul Mitchell of Costa Mesa. I'm sure you also know it's not exactly inexpensive. $20,000 to pay all by myself will preeetty difficult, especially since I don't have a job(yet!).

I'll quit beating around the bush now and get straight to my point: BUY MY STUFF. And by stuff, I mean my white leather boots! It's 6:30AM and I am lacking sleep, so I am far too lazy to list more of my items. Rest assured, I will be putting up more of my things in the near future.
Now that that's over with, I'm almost 18 and man, so I feel the responsibilities already coming at me. My mother took me over to Bank of America the other day to open an account for me, AKA, hellooo credit card! I'm actually pretty scared. Mathematical Financing class and its videos with people getting into debt has worried me, but at least I know what to do and what not to do. I also need to get a job. I hope to work somewhere cool.
My birthday is on Saturday and I have no idea how I want to celebrate it. I was hoping to go to Love Fest, but I'm pretty broke right now, so the idea if clubbing all night is looking like a definite possibility.
Do you guys have any good ideas of how I should celebrate my big one-eight?

Adventures With Elisa And TC

I apologize to all of my followers. I've been doing a pretty lousy job with updating this. I've been extremely busy. Every time this time of the year rolls around, I find myself being occupied with more than I can handle. With graduations, birthdays, and celebrations being thrown at me left and right, I find it hard finding time for myself. Alas, I have finally found some free time.

This week, I have been in Orange County visiting my best friend that I live a tad over an hour away from. I never get to see her as often as I'd like, so I like staying at her place whenever I can. I must say, we always have a blast when we're together. I've known this girl ever since I moved to California in fourth grade and have been best friends ever since. This is a friendship that is eight and a half years strong, and still going on more.

Here are just a few pictures...

The first is a close-up of the detail on my shirt. I LOVE THIS SHIRT SO MUCH. Sure, I get a few comments about it being a tacky floral and grandma-ish shirt, but I don't care. I love it. Also, the tights I'm wearing make me feel like Peter Pan and I feel invincible. The second, third, and fourth pictures are of myself, Elisa, and TC eating our ice cream popsicle things with our most...seductive...faces. We're hot. The fifth picture is of myself and TC on our bike ride to Ralph's at 10:00p.m. We're fattiez and beach cruisers in the OC are so appropriate.

I wear...
A vintage shirt via the Goodwill
A grey tank from Old Navy
Green tights from Target
Black shirts from New York & Co.
Rite-Aid flats
Earrings and necklace are Elisa's
Colorful bag via the Goodwill

There are more pictures to share, but I'll save those for a later post.

Busy Bee

I haven't had a whole lot of time to blog lately. I've been busy this week preparing for my interview and tour at Paul Mitchell. Our freshman year, Veronica and I vowed we would go to school there together after high school and move to Costa Mesa. Well, I finished high school early in October so I was just waiting for Veronica and graduation is nearing. After these few years, we still want to go through with our plans, so I applied and set up my interview with them.

It was on Wednesday, so I went with my mother and boy, I fell in love with the school! I have to admit, I was pretty nervous at first, but as soon as the admissions leader greeted me with a huge smile, I instantly felt comfortable. We talked over things and she told me she was glad I didn't look like everyone else and that I had great personal style. That, of course, was a huge compliment to me. She explained the method the school uses to teach the students and it really seems like something I can do. For example, students are absolutely not allowed to write notes in black or blue pen...It's strictly colored markers and colored pencils! That made me really happy, seeing as how I love colors. We talked some more and got me even more hooked. She then gave me a tour of the school and I met some of the instructors. They were so cool! They told me I would never get bored because there is always something going on and I'd make friends easily.
I'm extremely excited to start school in the Fall. I've been wanting to do this since I was eight and now the real world is coming. It's about time, too.
I also need to look for a job as soon as possible. After all, living in Orange County ain't cheap!
